It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother. She passed Thursday, August 18, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.
Mom worked in retail in her early life. At the age of 20, she married the love of her life, Redmond. From the time of their first child, Paulette was the epitome of the stay-at-home mother. Her children were always the centre of her universe. Mom went without to see her children thrive. For that, we are eternally grateful. Mom and dad enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the US for many years after dad’s retirement. Mom’s family will strive to embrace the teachings of our parents.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Redmond in 2018, her parents, Martha and Paul Chiasson and loving brother, Bobby.
Mom is survived by three sons, Paul, John and Jim (Gena) and her daughter, Darlene with whom she resided the past 12 years. She is also survived by two brothers, Wayne (Pat) and Allan (Barb); and sister-in-law, Donna MacNeil. Mom delighted in spoiling her grandchildren. Left to mourn are Mitchell, Alisa (Dom Gniewek), Everett, Connor and Ceilidh and one great-grandchild, Weston
As per Mom’s request, there will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a future date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Glen Worth, Tracy, Vanessa and Palliative Care for all their support over the years.
Memorials may be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
