Gerald Murray Gerry Connor 1944 2022

Obituary of Gerald Murray “Gerry” Connor
Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Loving husband of Beth (née Sifton) Connor. Dear brother of Pat MacKay (late Kenneth) and Margaret Johnson (Richard). Gerry is also fondly remembered by his mother-in-law, Louise Sifton (late Lyle B.), in-laws, Becky and Michael O’Shea, Brent and Georgia Sifton, and Jennifer and Nathan Petterson, as well as his nieces, nephews, and great nephews. He was the son of the late Vincent and Emelda (née MacDougall) Connor.
Gerry was born on December 3, 1944, in Saskatoon, SK where he spent his childhood. His career then took him to Toronto where he was fortunate to work for two corporations, Sears Canada and Meyn Canada.
After over 35 years of working life, Gerry retired to their lake house on Buck Lake. He had overseen the building of their dream home. Beth and Gerry were fortunate to have spent 19 years at the lake and to have long lasting relationships with their neighbours.
Gerry and Beth enjoyed travelling, especially on trips organized by dear friends, Judi and Rich.
He was a true gentleman. Despite his medical challenges, Gerry lived a rich and fulfilled life.
In keeping with Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration will be held. Flowers respectfully declined. If so desired, please consider a donation in memory of Gerry to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or your local kidney dialysis unit.
Sincere appreciation is expressed to the remarkable medical staff at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Gerald Murray Gerry
