BENNETT, Muriel (nee Brant)- Passed away peacefully at home, on August 10, 2022 at the age of 93. Cherished wife of the late Richard (1990). Much beloved Mother of Valerie Dunne (John), Bob Bennett (Sheila) and Susan Nadon (John). Proud Grandmother of Adam & Mike Dunne (Heather), Mathew & Bryan Bennett (Elle), Michelle Miller (Bruce), Christine Klassen (Tim) and Steven Nadon (Meagan).
Great Grandmother of Lucas & Reece Dunne, Anna, Leah & Grant Bennett, Eloise, Ezekiel & Elijah Miller, Kenny, Genevieve & Natalie Klassen, Diana Nadon & Cate Janik.
She is survived by her brothers Doug, Tom & Frank (Nancy) Brant, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Thomas Brant, her in-laws Louise and Albert Bennett, and her sister-in-law, Marion Brant.
Muriel was born in the family home, on Carlton Ave. in Niagara Falls. She attended Diamond Jubilee School and then onto Stamford High school. There, she met her beloved husband of 41 years, Richard. Muriel was a long-time member of St. Martin’s Anglican Church on Dorchester Rd. She also enjoyed her time volunteering at Dorchester Manor. Her love of travel took her to destinations such as Europe, the UK, Alaska & Hawaii.
She was an avid Bridge player at the Coronation Centre’s Thursday afternoon Bridge Club, where she made so many wonderful friends. Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening and sitting outside watching the birds and rabbits in the yard. But above all else, our mom’s favourite thing to do, was to spend time with her family. She was a loving, thoughtful and generous person, always putting others needs before her own. We will miss her greatly.
Arrangements entrusted to Morse & Son Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Private family interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian War Amps or to a Charity of Choice.
