Peacefully, on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Sumac Lodge, Ross Smith passed away at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Sally Smith (2015) for 65 years. Loving father of Sandy (Wilfred) Smith, Carol (Peter) Robinson, and Jim (Janice) Smith. Cherished grandfather of Heather (Don) Guerette, Shawn (Carman) Robinson, Jay (Alison) Morritt, Blake (Heather) Smith, Dusty Robinson, Brooke (Dave) Robinson, Jeremy Smith, Brandon Smith (Sarah) and favourite grandson “Bailey” (dog). Lovingly remembered by his 8 great-grandchildren. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Wayne, grandson Mark, daughter-in-law Jessica, his parents Lyle and Ethel, brother Emerson, and sister Virginia. Ross was a World War II navy veteran. He was a Process Operator at Imperial Oil for 38 years. Ross was a longtime member of Dunlop United Church. Ross was a boat and car enthusiast. He loved the water and spending summers at his trailer in Bayfield. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Ross’ wishes, a private family interment will be held at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the MS Society (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
