JOHN LUYTEN
John Luyten of Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Ritz Villa, Mitchell on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in his 93rd year.
Beloved husband of the late Maria (Van Der Veeken) Luyten (2015). Dear father of Marianne Van Esbroeck (Ed), Greg (Charlanne), Ed (Lucy), Peter (Margaret), Ken (Marlene), Rob (Michelle) and Patricia Bader (Andy). Loving grandfather of 28 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by the Van Der Veeken family in Holland.
Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Helma Luyten (2016), granddaughter Jaclyn (2015), parents Gregorius and Anna Maria (Bartels) Luyten, brothers Anthony, Adrianus, Cornelius and Piet, sisters Adriana and Sister Gregoria.
John and Maria immigrated to Canada in 1955. John’s passion was to farm which he did for close to 45 years. Over the years, he was an active member of the St Patrick’s Knights of Columbus, church choir and PTA.
A private family funeral mass will be held and may be viewed at LockhartFuneralHome.com on Wednesday. A Celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Ritz Villa Redevelopment Fund would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
