It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Judy Buss. Judy is predeceased by her husband Doug. She is survived by her daughters Shelly Ikert (Rick Paju), Brenda Di Muzio (Derek) and her granddaughters Emma (Taylor), Olivia, Alex and Bella. Judy will be remembered by her sister Sharon, her brother in-laws Dan Buss, Pat Buss (Carol), sister in-law Kellie (Jamie), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Judy grew up in Kitchener and lived across from the Buss family. She married Doug when she was 18 and had Shelly and Brenda at a young age. Judy and Doug moved to Bright’s Grove in 1973 and life in the grove would never be the same; they were part of the original “Grovites.”
Judy went back to school while the girls were young, completing the Process Operating course at Lambton College. Judy was proud of her accomplishments and worked hard at everything she did. Judy worked at Polysar and Nova as a Process Operator/Stationary Engineer and then ended her career at the Sarnia Courthouse and Sarnia Jail.
Judy was young at heart, and she loved to travel with Doug, friends and family and they made friends with the locals wherever they went. Judy was known for her jokes, inappropriate facebook posts and her house became the gathering spot for friends, neighbours and family. Judy loved music and watching the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays on the big screen. Sharing laughs and offering guests a cold beer or one of her famous Caesar’s was something that brought great joy to Judy.
Judy was an Independent, strong, and no-nonsense kind of woman. She could fix anything and made the best carrot cake around. She loved her family and couldn’t talk enough about her daughters and granddaughters as she was so proud of them all.
A special thanks and appreciation to The Sarnia Police, EMS, Sarnia Fire & Rescue for their attention and care. Family is thankful for the compassion and empathy shown by Dr. Mather and to all of those who have shown their love and support. Family and friends will be received on Thursday August 18, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a funeral will be held on Friday August 19, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. The family welcomes people to celebrate Judy’s life with a light lunch at the Sarnia Legion following the funeral. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
