On Thursday, August 4, 2022 Walter Wayne Parmley of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully at home at the age of 67 years.
Wayne was born in Barrie, Ontario. He enjoyed playing and watching hockey. Wayne loved to spend hours talking about the game with his grandson. His love of music brought him to start his own band, “August Mist”, in the 1980’s. Wayne traveled throughout western Canada for many years sharing his talent for all to hear. He said that music was the best job he ever had. Wayne also loved going to watch Stampede Wrestling and harass the wrestlers. Later he got to work along side some of the former wrestlers he tormented. He also really enjoyed movies, especially going to the Drive In theater.
Wayne had a long battle with lung cancer which he fought bravely. He remained independent to his last day. Everyone will miss Wayne’s charismatic, artistic, and stubborn ways. Wayne’s greatest love was his family and his poochie, Patch.
Wayne is lovingly remembered by his mother Elfrieda Parmley of Calgary; his sister Debbie Parmley of Calgary; his daughter Michelle (Stephen) Stolz of Calgary; two grandchildren Cassandra (Justin) Haacke of Calgary, Alexander Stolz of Calgary; one great grandson Lincoln Haacke; his aunts Holly Olinger and family, Irma Knarr and family; and his uncle Phil (Val) Parmley and family.
Wayne was predeceased by his father Albert Marlowe Parmley in 2012.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from Pierson’s Funeral Chapel, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary.
Following the visitation, a Funeral Service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 commencing at 3:30 p.m. A small reception will follow at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at the Kelvington Cemetery, Kelvington, Saskatchewan.
