Obituary of Leonard Charlton
Charlton, Leonard of St. Thomas passed away at Valleyview Home on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Gloria (Clifford) Charlton for 67 years. Dear father of Nancy Charlton of Algonquin Highlands, Bill Charlton(Mary Jane) of St. Thomas and Shelly Charlton-Glover(Bob) of New Sarum. Brother of Wayne(Willi) Charlton. Also survived by a sister-in-law Charline and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Russell (Donna) and Max. Born in Springfield, Ontario on June 26, 1934, son of the late Earl Charlton and Edith (West) Charlton. Leonard was manager for National Grocers for 43 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhart. Leonard enjoyed many years at the family cottage, Kushog Lake in the Haliburton Highlands, teaching his family to water ski and fish. Leonard was a carpenter and cabinet maker. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Talbotville United Church on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:00am. Cremation-Burial, Aylmer Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or Talbotville United Church would be appreciated. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
