Peter Daniel Gillis, of Miramichi, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the age of 33.
Born in Newcastle, NB, on June 29, 1989, he was the son of Irene McCardle and Bob Gillis. He worked as a Red Seal Industrial Electrician and was a member of St. Samuel’s Roman Catholic Church.
He will be deeply missed by his parents; two sisters Janet (Christopher Vickers) and Anne Gillis both of Halifax NS; aunts Barbara Gallop of Miramichi and Stephanie Gillis of Grand Forks, BC; uncle Donald Gillis of Rimbey, AB; honorary aunt, Linda Carroll of Miramichi; his extended McCardle family of many aunts, uncles, and cousins and family dog, Bing.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Northumberland Funeral Home, on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 4 pm to 8 pm and on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 4 pm to 8 pm. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 11 am, at St. Samuel’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Peter Godwin Kalu and Father Leon Creamer officiating. A reception will follow the funeral service at the Gillis family home, located at 37 Shaw Rd, in Miramichi.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Miramichi Food Bank or the Miramichi SPCA.
