Obituary of Delia Schneider-McAdoo
Delia Schneider-McAdoo, 71, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world on August 1st, 2022 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her life.
Delia overcame the tragic passing of her first love and husband, Samuel Schneider, with an unmatched level of strength, raising their four children, and achieving every goal they had set. Years later, she dutifully assumed the role that her late mother Delia Munevar played to keep her large family united.
She is survived by her husband, Ron McAdoo, with whom they built a beautiful life over the last 23 years. An adoring mother who would stop at nothing for her children, she leaves behind Delia (George Karidis) Schneider, Samuel (Tanis Brako) Schneider, Federico Schneider, and Carolina (Frederic Offman) Schneider. Embraced as her own, she is survived by her step-children Michael (Theodora) McAdoo and Wendy (Bill Frid) McAdoo. A beloved “Big-Grandma”, “Nana”, and “Abuela alcagüeta” she also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Andrea, Brandon, Zachary, James, Samuel, Sophie, Nicholas, Alexandra, and Emma, and her step-grandchildren, Isabela, Nicole, and Alexander. One of 9 siblings from a close-knit family, Delia is survived by 7 treasured brothers and 1 cherished sister, along with their spouses, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved and touched deeply in life. Last but not least, she leaves behind her friends, an amazing sisterhood that sustained her and filled her heart regularly.
A beautiful soul inside and out, she was an epitome of class, elegance, kindness, and generosity. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, you will remember her love, her infinite patience, her fierceness, her loyalty, her servitude, and her dedication. She leaves a legacy of love and memories with every soul she touched. The strength of her spirit was unparalleled. No matter what life dealt her, she faced it with grace and determination, setting an example to never give up and to leverage love to sustain you.
Following her wishes, she will be cremated. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date to scatter her ashes in places close to her heart.
In lieu of donations, please plant some flowers to remember her by, or simply do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone who needs it, in her name.
A special note of gratitude to the medical and nursing staff at Kingston General Hospital for working with her will-to-live, and to the Providence Care staff for their exceptional care in her last few days.
Thank you for being our angel on earth. We love you forever. Until we see you again…
“Then love knew it was called love. And when I lifted my eyes to your name, suddenly your heart showed me my way” – Pablo Neruda.
