On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the age of 90, Marg was ushered into the presence of the Saviour she loved and served for so many years. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bud (2008). Most loved mother of John Downey and wife Winanne, Patty Leno and husband Garth. Treasured Grandma of Nathan Leno and wife Sarah, Kristin Pitman and husband David and predeceased by precious grand-daughter Jamie (2022). Cherished G.G. of Isla, Hattie and Ellis Leno, Mason and Kezia Pitman. Dear sister of Roger Dawson and wife Marion, Bruce Dawson and wife Joyce, and predeceased by David and Eleanor Dawson. Margaret was loved by many nieces and nephews, and they will remember her always.
Marg served faithfully beside her husband, Pastor Bud Downey for most of their married life. Marg mentored many women in studying the Word of God and living a Christ centered life. She had the gift of mercy and hospitality and exercised them faithfully, entertaining many people in her home with her delicious meals, caring deeply for those around her. She loved children, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she impacted.
If you so desire, donations to Ontario Rett Syndrome Association would be appreciated by the family.
Visitation Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until a Funeral Service to celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m. at Families First, South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave. (519-969-5841).
Cremation to follow, with an inurnment at a later date in Bailieboro, Ontario.

  1. Marg was the the gentlest sweetest lady when I knew her at Rexdale Alliance Church. She was the anchor of her beautiful family. One of those persons you always had to say hello to her with her beautiful. smile. Our Lord knows He’s got a great one this time. My thoughts and prayers are out for the family. Pastor Bud was likely the first at the welcoming gate in heaven.
