It is with profound sadness we announce
the passing of Karen Diane McManaman, age
66, of Stanley, NS. Karen passed away peacefully on
Saturday, July 30, 2022 with family by her side, at
the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan,
NS.
Born in Amherst in 1956, she was a
daughter of Mabel (Lowe) MacLeod, Amherst and the
late Courtney MacLeod.
Karen was a dedicated employee of
MT&T. This took took her and her family to
Kentville, NS, to reside fora period of time and then to return home
to finish her working career. Home was Karen’s
favourite place to be. She enjoyed the simplicity and the comfort that
home brought and loved sharing a cup of coffee with those who came to
visit. Many afternoons and evenings were spent crafting
around the kitchen table with her sisters.She was blessed with two
grandchildren, Emily and Evan, who were her world. The love that Karen
had for her family was indescribable.Karen
was beautiful, inside and out,
and filled anyone in her presence with
joy from her playful nature.
In addition to her mother, Karen will be
dearly missed by her husband Douglas, Stanley, NS, son Jason (Laura),
Riverview, 2 grandchildren, Emily and Evan, siblings
Stephen (Pam), Amherst, NS, Holly (David) Burke, Fort Lawrence, NS,
Nancy (Bobby) Collins, Amherst, NS, special niece, Nicole
Burke, Fort Lawrence, NS, as well as many
loved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Jamie,
father Courtney, siblings Wayne MacLeod, Kim MacLeod, and
Wanda Meisner.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS,
(902-667-8777). An Afternoon of Remembrance will be
held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 2 to
4 pm at Jones Family Funeral Centre.
Special words will be offered at 3:15
pm. Burial will take place in the Amherst
Cemetery at a later date.
