Samuel Wigdor Wednesday January 12 2022

WIGDOR, Samuel – Suddenly, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in his 93rd year. Beloved father and father in-law of Ron Wigdor and Melissa Sonberg, Barbara and Robert Foldes, and Teddy Wigdor and Sheri Betel. Very proud and loving Zaidy of Talia and Carly Wigdor, Emily, Avery and Amanda Foldes, and Julia and Laura Wigdor. Pre-deceased by his wife, Zula Wigdor (nee Gutherz) and his parents, Abrasha and Irma Wigdor. Sam will be sadly missed by his close companion, Lyse Duhamel, and her daughter, Michelle and partner, Jacques.
Sam was an avid skier, voracious reader and loved a great pun. Following the model of the Hampstead ski school in the early seventies, Sam founded the Cote St. Luc ski school and was an active volunteer for many years. With close friends, he also took annual ski trips to Europe, and tamed the slopes of every major resort in the Alps. He continued this tradition even after he was no longer able to ski due to declining health.
Sam was a graduate of McGill University and joined the family greenhouse business after completing his Masters degree at Michigan State. He fully retired in his mid-80’s and spent his retirement years quietly while doing a bit of travelling when his health permitted.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Donations in his memory can be made to the charity of your choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Samuel Wigdor Wednesday January 12 2022..
