Obituary
After a lifetime of faithful service, Kenneth Bevan Lougheed has been called home by his Heavenly Father. Bev is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Lois Lougheed (nee Clifford); his children Kenneth (Annette), Blaine (Cindy), Shelagh Buhler (Conrad) and Patti-Lynne Ford (Stephen). Bev was the loving son of Marion Lougheed and the late Harold Lougheed. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Jacob (Kelsey, Benaiah, Elizabeth), Mackenzie, Josiah (Allison, Isabelle), Caleb (Staysi), Madeline, Abigail (Garrett), Hannah, Allie (Peter), Leah (Daniel), Olivia, Spencer, Caitlynne and Zachary; his brothers Dwayne, Kyle (Cindy); his sisters-in-law Kay Lougheed and Joanne Prescott (Perry); by his brothers-in-law; Alvin Stewart and Steve Donnelly and fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Predeceased by his siblings, Durwin and Brian Lougheed, Lorna Donnelly and Elaine Stewart; his sister-in-law, Eileen Lougheed.
Bev was a true Bruce Peninsula boy that sought the bright lights of the big city, Owen Sound. After short stops at Rockview School and Dufferin School, Bev enjoyed a long and distinguished 30-year career at West Hill Secondary School. His passion for exploring different places and different people was manifested not just through his enjoyment in the local classroom field trip but the many trips he enjoyed over the years all over the world.
His commitment to service played out in the many activities he involved himself in over the years. From church boards to school committees to sports councils, Bev’s most obvious attestation to caring for people was evident in his love and commitment to family. Each of his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids witnessed firsthand the unconditional love and devotion that characterized grandpa’s living faith in a personal Saviour.
Bev will be missed but his lessons will not be forgotten. For those of us that share his unwavering resolve that new life begins when we finally experience God’s embrace, we look forward to seeing him soon!

Bevan Lougheed. Oh man. Gone too soon. Bev was always a friendly face to me in the halls at West Hill. Making the day a bit brighter. Always in great spirits and full of ideas and activities for the students. He was a man of principle. I believe Bevan started teaching out of high school and had to get all his credentials through summers of university. One of the last of that breed.
Bevan loved Canada and teaching kids about geography and life. I think they came to OSLT at the Roxy and had a few good laughs at me on stage. I’m sorry I missed the memorial. Seems like I just saw Bevan. I was proud to teach with Ken and teach two of the grand-daughters. Heaven is a better place with you there Bevan. I’m sure he was a much-loved grandpa. Best wishes. John Beisel.
