After a long life, has been called to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, formerly of Markdale in her 97th year. She is reunited with her beloved husband Jack(Harold John). Loving mother of Gloria(the late Ron) Petrie of Barrie and Paul(Irene) Clark of Caledon. Cherished grandmother to 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Margaret Griggs, the late William Reesor, the late Lorraine and Art Middlestadt, the late Clarence Reesor, the late Jim Reesor, Beverley (Don) Crichton, Gerry (Debbie) Reesor, Pat (Bill) and Peter Weyermars and the late Robert and Donny.
Shirley was a Foster Mother for Children’s Aid to many children in the Dundalk area. She was a long time member of Gentle Shepherd Community Church and enjoyed singing with the Country Gospel Group. Also long time volunteer for the Women’s Auxillary in Markdale. She finally retired from the Women’s Auxiliary at the age of 90 and moved to Barrie.
The family will receive friends at Gentle Shepherd Community Church, Eugenia on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Brougham Cemetery.
