W. William (Bill) Newitt passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2020 at the age of 68. Bill loved his family deeply: his wife Janneke (DePutter) of 42 years and his children Holly and Liam.
Bill was Master of Dufferin Lodge, Melbourne from 1988 to 1992, Secretary from 1994 to 2004 and District Secretary of St. Thomas District in 2000. He was Secretary of Strathoca Shrine Club in Strathroy from 2005 to 2014 and a member of Hi Ro Shrine Club in St. Thomas.
Bill was very athletic as a young man, had a successful sales career and enjoyed many hobbies over the years including scuba diving, gardening, refinishing furniture, Scouting and cooking. He was an active member of Appin United Church.
Bill’s family now feel comfortable hosting a Celebration of Life for him on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 2-5 pm at the Harvest Table, 6460 Riverside Drive, Melbourne. Remembrances at 3 pm and a Masonic Service at 4 pm. Everyone welcome! Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Shriner’s Sick Children’s Hospital in Montreal.
