Maude “Doris”‘s Obituary
CREEMER, Maude “Doris” ~ Age 82, of Kingston, Kings Co., passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, in Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born on April 11, 1940, in Gaspereau, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Ross Albert and Evelyn Maude (Schofield) Croft. Doris was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be greatly missed. She was a quilt maker, loved music, singing, had attended and played at many local jam sessions. Doris was an avid “Yard Saler”, always insisting on stopping to look around at each garage or yard sale in the valley. She enjoyed making cakes, cooking and serving people. Doris was a seamstress who liked to knit and crochet, was a local traveller, loved nature, animals, who would take in injured and sick animals and care for them. She enjoyed trips on the motorcycle with her husband and was affectionally known as “motorcycle momma”. Doris and David were faithful attendees of church and most recently the Peoples 25:40 Church. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, David A. Creemer; her children, Katherine “Kathy” Linda Atwell (Mike) Dillman, Wilmot, N.S.; Deborah “Debbie” Ann Atwell McNeil (Adrian Corkum), Spruce Grove, Alberta; William Richard “Rick” Whynott (Sharon Landry), Rockdale St. Peters, N.S.; Carl Freeman (Laura) Hicks, Dartmouth, N.S.; Marilyn Elizabeth (Howard) Mugridge, Westmount Sydney, N.S.; Kelley May Whynott, Kingston, N.S.; Kevin Berton Whynott (Darlene Cochrane), Centreville, N.S.; Julie Lynn Toole (Tony) Baak, Meadowvale, N.S.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Ena Walsh, Kingston, N.S.; Betty Spencer, Wolfville, N.S.; Charlotte Yvonne Melvin, Kingston, N.S.; Ross Lenley Melvin; Roy Weston Melvin; Donna Lee Hollywood; Connie Kavanagh; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence and Basil Croft (of Gaspereau, N.S.) There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place at a later date in Wiswall Cemetery, Wilmot, with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton, as well as Valley Hospice. Also, the care and compassion that was shown by Victorian Order of Nurses and Senior Home Care by Angels will never be forgotten.
