Ronald Anthony Michael Roland Beckles 1952 2022

BECKLES, Ronald Anthony Michael:
It is with profound sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Ronald Anthony Michael Beckles of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 70 years. Ronald took his last breath peacefully in the early morning of July 3, 2022 at Scarborough General Hospital.
Ronald leaves behind his brother Carl Beckles and his sister Ingrid Jervis (Beckles). He is survived and remembered by children: Sean Beckles (mother – Pauline Beckles), André and Aaron Nutbean (mother – Laura Nutbean), Jonathan and Jaleesa Sinclair (mother – Sharon Sinclair); grandchildren: Rashaun and Shanelle, Daniel, Malachi, Soheila and Maki; nieces and nephew: Denise, Gail, Maston, Tonya, and Karen; as well as cousins: Lorna, Winston, Lawrence, Michelle, and Sharon. Also, he will be fondly thought of and missed by many of his friends.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents: George and Pearl Beckles; brother: Desmond; sister: Brenda; and uncle: Joseph.
He was born on March 15, 1952 in Guyana, South America and immigrated to Canada, October 12, 1967. True to his nature, Ronald found his purpose in the compassionate healthcare profession at Queensway General and Sunnybrook hospitals in Toronto. This ability and willingness to care for and morally support others permeated his life and extended to family, friends and strangers alike. He loved people and people loved him. He was fun-loving, humorous, and warm-hearted; appreciated music and enjoyed dancing.
Ronald has left us a treasure trove of memories that will light the corners of our minds into eternity. To see him in a suit with matching socks and shoes was to witness a well-dressed man who walked tall with long strides and confidence. Undoubtedly, he was very comfortable and appreciative of all aspects of fashionable clothing. Not only that, hands down, he loved driving a clean car and had a special connection to the “Pontiac” make of cars. Especially, the Pontiac Grand Prix. Coupled with that, his favorite sport, win or lose, was horse-racing. He was an avid fan of this sport of kings. In fact, we could still hear him saying, “Beat that horse, oh no he broke his stride!” Nonetheless, these were moments of great joy for him.
More importantly, he will be most remembered for his generous and welcoming spirit, as well as his passion for cooking. No one went hungry in his presence. In his lifetime, we could truly say that he developed a servant’s heart, that is, a combination of character and attitude that lend themselves to serving others.
“Say not in grief that he is no more but live in thankfulness that he was.”
—Hebrew Proverb
