Marjorie’s Obituary
Heighton, P. Marjorie – Phyllis Marjorie Heighton, age 85 of Cape John, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Cape John, N.S., she was the oldest daughter of the late Allison and Dorothy (Douglas) Heighton. Marge was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family fiercely and took great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always worked in the community, first at Jennie MacKenzie’s Restaurant, the old and new Coop stores and eventually C.G. Fulton Pharmacy. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alvin; children, Cheryl (Peter), River John; Steven (Helga), Pictou; Kevin, Westville; Trudi (Bill), Parrsboro; grandchildren, Ryan, Heidi, Karen, Katie, Christian, Justin, Jenna, Joni and families; great grandchildren, Henry, Oliver, Emilia, Nolan, Evan, Maddox, Ben, David and Calli; sister, Mildred (Aubrey), Cape John; brother, Jimmy, Mountain Road; nieces, nephews and special friend, Mary, Cape John. She was predeceased by sister, Anna. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, and a celebration of life service and burial will be announced at a later date to be held in Cape John Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Foundation. Special thanks are extended to Doctors Bush and Rowe and the nursing staff at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital for their excellent care.
