Samuel’s Obituary
On July 2nd, 2022 Samuel “Job” Strangemore passed away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL at the age of 92 years. He was born to Esau and Dorcas Strangemore, in Ireland Bight, NL on September 16th, 1929 and often spoke of his memories of the resettled community he was from. He started work for the Bowater Company as a very young man. He began cutting wood and in a very short time he became a driver and hauled wood from Main Brook to Corner Brook for many years. Samuel was very interested in world events, politics and historical sites, but from the comfort of his living room recliner! He gave his opinion and was a stubborn as a mule. He loved his partner Elizabeth of 54 years and she will miss him dearly. Also leaving to mourn, each in their own way are his children; IIean (Don), Mait (Wavey), Gail (Phil), Oral (Cathy), Dean (Sonja), Claudette (Ivan), Cynthia (Wade), Bev (Tony) and Dawson (Corina). 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brother; Norman (Myra) Strangemore, sister-in-laws; Ethel and Emily Patey and Ethel, Vera and Dora Strangemore. Samuel was predeceased by his father Esau and mother Dorcas, daughter Wanda, sisters; Blanch, Lucinda and Mary Jane, brothers; Ralph, Jeremiah and Clifford. Brother-in-laws; Everest and Herb Patey.
We would like to thank his neighbours in the Spillway and all our extended family and friends for their support.
