Obituary of Amanda Miner
Miner, Amanda -Beth Roberta – 44 of Canso formerly of Rawdon, it is with broken hearts we announce the passing of, daughter, mother, sister and friend, Amanda on June 27th, 2022, in Canso. Born in Windsor on January 29th, 1978, she was the daughter of Jack (Joanne) Miner and Kim (Billy) Edwards.
Amanda grew up in Rawdon Goldmines and attended Rawdon District School. She was involved in; Brownies, gymnastics, figure skating, and enjoyed her playdates with best friend, Jeanette.
Amanda graduated from Hants West Rural High, Brooklyn, where she met many of her lifelong friends. She furthered her education at NSCC Middleton, completing her studies in Human Services. Amanda worked various jobs in Windsor, Halifax and last being the CO-OP in Canso before becoming unable to work due to illness.
Amanda was a free spirit, always ready for a good time and had an incredible sense of humor. She enjoyed the simple things in life; a good book, her crime investigation TV shows, Sunday morning Coronation St, and walks on the beach as she loved being near the ocean.
Besides her parents, Amanda leaves to mourn; her daughter Baylie Wile of Ellershouse, Baylie’s father Steven (Nicole) Wile of Aylesford, brother Sheldon (Ellen) Miner of Hantsport, niece and nephew Luke and Claire Miner of Hantsport, sister Lauren Edwards of Ottawa, Paternal grandfather Vic Miner of Windsor, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Amanda is predeceased by; Maternal grandparents Bill and Phyllis (Walker) Sanford, paternal grandmother Helen (McPhee) Miner, brother-in law Michael Wile, best friend Jeanette Page.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the many doctors and nurses of Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso, and St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, for all the excellent care Amanda received. Also, a big thanks to Julie Myatt who was always there for Amanda when we couldn’t be, we are forever grateful.
There will be a memorial service held in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville on Monday, July 4th, 2022, at 2pm, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. A burial will follow the service in the Grace United Church Cemetery, Walton.
