Rhonda’s Obituary
Rhonda Leigh Daye, 60, of 1450 Bloomington Road, Bloomington, Annapolis Co., passed away Saturday, June 25 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville following a long struggle with cancer. Born in Moose Jaw, Sask., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Doris Marckowski and stepdaughter of the late Janet Marckowski. As a young woman, she served for a short time in the Canadian Forces (RCAF), and since that time had been employed at a number of jobs, first in Halifax and then in the Annapolis Valley with Larsens, Britex, Dougalls Pub, Top Hat Tavern, Super Store, Kingston and Scotian Gold. Rhonda loved life to the fullest. She was known for her cooking, enjoyed nature, loved all animals and birds, music (especially live music), and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. She is survived by her husband, Kurt Daye; siblings, Ann (Bryan) Chadwick; John (Betty) Marckowski; Dave (Marcia) Marckowski; Linda (Kevin) deKelley; Barb (Bruce) Buchanan; brother-in-law Rob Daye and partner Marie Chapman. Rhonda is predeceased by in-laws Bud & Lois Daye of Aylesford. Thanks to the nurses and staff at the Dixon Centre, QEII Sciences Centre, and the staff at Valley Regional Hospital and in particular the second floor surgery ward. There will be no funeral service by request. A celebration of life will take place at her residence, 1450 Bloomington Road, on August 20, anytime after 2:00 p.m. Please bring your instruments if you play. Interment will be at a later date.
