With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Carol on June 24th, 2022 at the Elizabeth Centre, with family by her side. A lifelong resident of Val Caron, she is survived by sons Shawn and Tim, and her 65-year companion and best friend, her husband Don. Carol is also survived by her daughter Sherry, grandsons Tyler and Brannyn, Great grandchildren Krystyna and Anthony, along with her entertaining furry feline, Buddy. Afflicted and suffering with many health issues for decades, she kept her faith and never once complained. Always putting the needs of others before her own, Mom provided endless sacrifice, support, guidance, encouragement, love, and care for her family. A fighter to the very end, her courage never waned. Carol worked 35 years as a much-valued secretary/office manager for the Construction Union Trades Industry as well as for Bell Canada, in the dental field, and as a teachers’ assistant. A super swimmer, she enjoyed puzzles, cards, bowling, NASCAR, and Coronation Street, but most of all, creating fantastic meals for family get-togethers. Carol also leaves behind her sister Lynn Rivard (Louis) of Waterloo and stepsiblings Don Morrison (Ann) and Kim Morrison.
For their care and compassion, we thank those at HSN 5th Floor, South Tower, the management and staff of the Elizabeth Centre, Fr. Peter Bodnar, the supportive Lougheed Family, and all those who sent prayers on Carol’s behalf. Thank you.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 40 Notre Dame Ave, Sudbury, on Thursday, July 7th, 2022 at 11am, followed by a celebration of life luncheon at the Caruso Club from 12pm to 4pm.
