Born August 11, 1933 in Renfrew County. Son of the late Wellington and Pearl Hodgins. Survived by sister Dorothy Schultz and predeceased by brothers Garfield Hodgins and Harold Hodgins. The passing of Lloyd follows his wife Carol (Broughton)(2016), leaving their family with profound sadness. Son Mark Hodgins (Judy) and family. Grandchildren Amanda Johnson, Jason Hodgins, Jessica Hodgins (2015), Emily Hodgins. Great-grandchildren Michelle, Myles, Emma, and Cormac. Daughter Stephanie Agar (Michael) and family. Grandchildren Mitchell Bigras and Shelby Bigras. Great-grandchild Gianna. As a young lad, Lloyd came to Sarnia by train in search of work and was diligent in his quest. He had a proud 38yr career starting in 1954 with Polymer Corporation. He worked and educated his way to Manager-Utilities and ended as Project Manager. Lloyd was a First Class Power Engineer and a Lifetime Member with the Institute of Power Engineers (IPE). He held many seats within IPE Sarnia Branch, including President/Legislative Chairman. In 1995 Lloyd was awarded the W.G. Child award, the highest ranking award a member can receive, among others and recently received his 50yr Service pin. Lloyd was beloved and respected by family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances. A constant good man and a true gentleman. Family and friends are invited to gather at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, June 24th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home to celebrate Lloyd’s life at 11:00 a.m., with a time of reception immediately following.
