Obituary of Eleanor Jean Clayton
Eleanor “Granny” Jean Clayton, 92 of Wolfville (formerly of Hantsport), passed away peacefully on June 12, 2022 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born May 10, 1930, in Windsor Forks, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Violet (Carson) Williams.
Eleanor and Ted loved camping and over the years they made many friendships. She enjoyed playing 45’s, going to monthly breast quest meetings, and eating out. But her passion was making strawberry jam and date squares and giving them all away.
We can remember one summer where Eleanor ate three 11.4 litre tubs of coffee ice cream and didn’t gain an ounce! Who does that?!?
Eleanor is survived by her loving daughter, Pat (Craig) Cuvilier; sisters, Edith “Peg” Williams and Carol (Ralph Chancey) Draper; grandsons, Chris (Tracy) and Joe (Kari); great-grandchildren, Layton, Ella, and Carter; step-great grandchildren, Darcy Thimot and Luke Thimot.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Clayton in 2007; sisters, Lillie Peach, Mary Lowthers, Maxine Doucet, Elizabeth Church, Elva Parker, and Barbara Scott; brothers, Lester Williams, Medford Williams, Alfred Williams, and Arthur Williams.
We, the family, would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Wolfville Nursing Home for their excellent care.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Riverbank Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Hantsport Memorial Community Centre, PO Box 412, Hantsport, NS ; Canadian Cancer Society ; or charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
