Sharon Marcia Clarke 1963 2022

CLARKE: Sharon Marcia~ Sharon Marcia Clarke of Brampton, Ontario Canada was born on October 7, 1963, on the topographical island of Jamaica. She is the daughter of Polly and Leslie Gallimore.
Sharon was a loving and caring daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend. She was also a devoted wife and mother who ensured her two daughters were always well taken care of. Sharon was selfless, always willing, and ready to do anything for anyone. Sharon enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed cruising on the waters of the Caribbean, reading, coaching track and field, or officiating at track and field sporting events. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Sunshine State of Florida to visit with family,
Sharon’s passion for service included her work with the Peel Youth Week of Prayer Programs and the MS Foundation. She also volunteered to serve in several capacities as a member of the Mississauga Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Northwest Brampton Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her tenure included Mentorship for Youth and Young Women, establishment of Pathfinder Club, leadership role for the Church building, and Property Management committee where she worked relentlessly until she succeeded in the acquisition of the Northwest Brampton SDA church property.
Sharon was a very talented and well respected member of the Louisiana State University track and field team; 1984 to 1988. Sharon was well accomplished and captured national and international honours in both the long jump and triple jump. She formed close and long lasting friendships with her teammates and remained a part of the LSU family. Sharon was a 4x NCAA all American, 5x South Eastern Conference Champion in the long jump and triple jump. She was also a member of the Canadian track and field team and represented Canada at the Pan American Junior Championships, World University Games (FISU) as well as the Commonwealth Games. Sharon continued her involvement in sport by coaching at the University of Toronto and officiated with Athletics Ontario. She will be missed by many and remains forever in the the hearts of the track and field family.
Sharon’s career path included Sprint, American Express, Toronto Dominion Bank, and most recently the University of Toronto.
Sharon departed peacefully from this life on June 2nd, 2022 at the Toronto General Hospital with family members at her side. She is survived by her husband Henry, daughters Aaliah and Tshalaine, grandson Preston, parents Polly and Leslie, brother Gord, niece Gianna, nephew Graeden, aunts Tiny and Winnie, close cousin Tony (Delroy), best friend Vivienne and a host of relatives and friends who love her and will miss her tremendously.
Sharon’s Celebration of Life Service:
Wednesday June 15th at the Mississauga SDA Church
2250 Credit Valley Road.
Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30
