RADDALL – Thomas H. – Hunt’s Point, Queens County
With great sadness we announce that Tom peacefully passed away on June 3, 2022 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, NS where he had been receiving care for the past two months.
Tom was born in 1934 in Liverpool, a son of the late Thomas H. and Edith (Freeman) Raddall.
Tom attended Acadia University then Dentistry at Dalhousie University. Tom and Pam married in 1959 and moved to Liverpool, where he practiced dentistry retiring in 1994.
Tom dedicated himself to community organizations, his profession and to the preservation and promotion of his father’s legacy. He was a member of the Queens General Hospital foundation, President of the Liverpool Curling Club, Chair of the Queens County Museum, President of the Children’s Aid Society and President of the Kiwanis Club of Liverpool. Professionally, Tom was a long standing member of the Board of Governors, Acadia University, Chair of the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia, a member of various educational and faculty council committees, a Fellow of the Pierre Fouchard Academy and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Tom was honoured to receive the NSDA Philip S. Christie Award for Distinguished Service and an Outstanding Alumnus Award from Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Dentistry. He was the first recipient of the Acadia Student Union “Governor of the Year” Award and, in 2013, received an honouary degree from Acadia University.
Tom possessed a quiet dignity, pragmatism and a leadership style that was inspirational. His wisdom and strength will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pam (White); his children Debbie (Clary) Kempton, Tom (Cathy) and Blair (Deborah). His grandchildren Matthew and Jack Kempton, Thomas, Gavin, Brent and Ellen Raddall.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his sister Francie Dennis.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. No flowers, donations may be made to the Queens General Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com

  1. I met Tom and Pam when taking care of him while he was still living in their beautiful home. I found him to be a quiet gentleman and Pam certainly to be a lady. My sympathies go to Pam and families for their grief. Just knowing he’s in a better place taking care of everyone’s dental care with his gentlemanly manner and humor. God bless to all.
