Jason Gordon Cameron

It is with great and profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our son, husband, father, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, Jason Cameron, who passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
Born on October 9, 1978 in North Sydney, as the only child to Kim (Hillier) Cameron McInnis and David Cameron, Jason loved playing baseball and riding his dirt bike in the warm summers and taking his dads skidoo out on the trails in the winters. One of Jason’s favourite pass times was cracking jokes and playing tricks on anyone who would fall for them. Jason became a pipe fitter and fuser in his adult years and proudly owned JMC Mechanical. No job was too big or too far away.
Jason married the love of his life, Belinda Cameron on October 16, 2021, with his grandfather “Pop” standing as his best man, in his grand-parents backyard, surrounded by close family and friends. He often referred to this day as the best day of his life. Jason was a true family man and cherished every moment with his wife and beautiful children, Merissa & Jacob and bonus children, Ryan and Carley. His trips home meant the world to him, especially to his adored maternal grandparents Gord and Marg Hillier, as he always told them he was their #1 grandson.
Jason is survived by his wife Belinda, children Merissa, Jacob, Ryan and Carley. His loving parents, Kim (Sandy) and David (Rose), in-laws Danny and Darlene, grand-parents Gord and Marg, aunts Cynthia Hillier, Karan (Gary) Hunt, Cheryl (Joseph) Boudreau, uncle Lloyd (Pam) Hillier, sister Jamie, step-sister Katie McInnis (Liam) and cousin-brother Trent (Angie) Moore, nieces Malorie and Gabriella, nephews Maddox and Matthew, and many cousins.
Jason is predeceased by his aunt Denise Hillier Moulton, brother-in-law Matthew (Jessica) and paternal grandparents Martin James and Esta (Watt).
A funeral service for Jason will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney with Deacon David Lewis officiating. The service will be live streamed on the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Facebook page.
