Katherine Bella White
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Katherine
Bella White at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital June 1, 2022 at the
age of 95.
Born in Catherham, Surrey, England, Katherine was the
daughter of the late Robert and Rose Lockhart and was also predeceased
by her brothers Robert “Bob” and Allan. She is
survived by her brother Oliver Lockhart, Surrey, England, and several
nieces and nephews.
When Katherine immigrated to Canada from England in 1950, she
resided with her chosen family, Barry and Dulcie Drost of Bath, NB,
and their siblings, Stephen, June, Anne and Randy Drost. She later
moved to Fredericton where she met her late husband John White and was
employed as a hairdresser for much of her life.
An active member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Kay, as
she was frequently known, was engaged with the Canadian War Brides,
the Fern Sewell Women’s Missionary Society and served for
many years as President of the Golden Years Club. Much
later, she resided at Risteen’s Landing and prior to her
passing she lived at Thomas Hall, Shannex.
With a wide circle of wonderful friends Kay remained active
exploring craft work, ceramics, knitting, sewing, and had a great love
for jigsaw puzzles. She will be long remembered for having an active
mind and a wonderful memory and was known for her vibrant personality,
sense of style and her love of children and
animals.
Katherine’s funeral service will be held from the
J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 7, at 2:00 pm.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service. For
those unable to attend in person a livestream will be available at the

Interment will follow in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery on Woodstock
Road. Pallbearers will be Randy Drost, Allen Spurrell,
Stephen Drost and Jordan Brown.
Special appreciation is expressed to faithful friends and
personal care providers- Garry and Gayle Hanson assisted by Stephen
Drost, Merri-Lee Hanson Tabor, Kerri-Lynn Hanson Howard, long-time
care companion, Allen Spurrell, and loving friends Maggie Lally,
Doreen Beale, and Alice Gilmore. Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff
of 4 South West and Dr. Frank and Dr. Ginsen for their excellent
care.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Memorial
Baptist Church or please perform a deed of kindness in your own quiet
way in loving memory of Katherine.
