Obituary for
Daniel Comtois
The family announces with great sorrow his passing at the age of 40, after a long battle with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, surrounded by his family and friends, in the comfort of his home in Alban, Ontario, on Saturday January 8, 2022. Beloved son of Diane (Lacasse) and the late Denis Comtois of Alban, Ontario. Loving brother of Richard (Renée Rhéaume) of Chelmsford. Dear uncle of Kiera, Félix, Tyler, and Brayden. Adored grandson of Richard and Huguette Lacasse (Pharand), and Emile and Yolande Comtois (Lemieux), all predeceased. He will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Daniel was a courageous, positive, persevering, and loving soul. His strength and positive energy greatly impacted the lives of everyone he knew. He was a ray of sunshine to all with his wit and his love to make people laugh. Daniel was a passionate hockey fan, especially for the Pittsburgh Penguins since the day he met his inspiration, Mario Lemieux. The family wants to thank all of Daniel’s caregivers, and a special thank you to Nurse Practitioner Ann Desrosiers, Dr. N. Mehta, Dr. Doug McKim, Dr. Sue Dojeije and David Laplante for all the exceptional and compassionate care. Due to the pandemic and current restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A gathering will take place in the spring for a celebration of life. In the hopes of making a difference in the lives of those he loved, donations to gofund.me/acff6f6d will be accepted to help Daniel’s sister-in-law’s ongoing battle with Lyme disease. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cooperative Funeral Home, Sudbury.  www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
