Mom had a positive “can-do attitude”, she really enjoyed being with people, she loved music and dancing , was a great storyteller and was always fun to be around. She worked hard to help her family from a very young age and was a strong believer in getting a great education. She enjoyed a wonderful career in banking spanning 35 years with both the RBC and CIBC branches in Digby and Kingston, where she enjoyed working tirelessly for her customers and local businesses. After retiring from banking, she attained her Insurance Institute certification, enabling her to work in that industry for several years. She was an avid bridge player and loved her daily walks with friends. She belonged to the Anglican Church Women’s Group, volunteered generously through the Kingston Lions /Lionettes Club and was a past member of Paragon Golf Club. One of her favorite things was spending time at her beloved Trout Lake cottage with Victor hosting their friends and family. She loved her grandchildren dearly, playing an active role in caring for and supporting them whenever needed.
With family being out- of -province and continuing COVID concerns, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Mom’s life at a later date to be advised.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations either to the North Kingston Public Cemetery, P.O Box 215 , Kingston, NS B0P 1R0 or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 2719 Gladstone Street, Halifax, NS B3K 0A4 (Alzheimer@asns.ca ) .
