Wilson’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother; Wilson David Bond, surrounded by his loving family, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on May 29th, 2022 at the age of 84. Born in Lapoile, he was the son of the late Hubert and Annie Bond. He was also predeceased by his daughter; Selina, special son; Henry (Bobby) Strickland, brothers; Harry and Stanley Bond, brother in-law; Junior Munden, sister in-law; Sarah Bond, niece; Lorraine Bond, nephew; Billy Bond and mother in-law; Bessie Anderson.
Wilson leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife of 63 years; Marie, daughters; Christina (Chesley), Denise (Robbie) and special daughter-in-law; Elaine Hardy of Burnt Islands, NL, grandchildren; Sabrina (Travis) of Red Deer, AB, Samantha of Blackfalds, AB, Cody and Cindy both of Burnt Islands, NL, special granddaughter; Syliva Strickland of Corner Brook, NL, sisters; Lydia (Clayton) Bond, Melida Munden, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Keeping and sister-in-law; Mamie Bond, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Wilson’s heart was always on the water, he enjoyed all that the great outdoors had to offer; hunting, fishing and berry picking. As well, he loved playing a good game of cards. The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and his caregivers; Selma Neil, Julie Bond and Gail Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1st from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, June 2nd from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. at the L.O.L.-102 Orange Lodge in Burnt Islands. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3rd at 11 a.m. from St. Georges Anglican Church, Burnt Islands officiated by Rev. Diana Fry. In keeping with Wilson’s wishes, cremation to follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Wilson’s memory can be made to the family.
