DAWSON, Raymond “Ray” – Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Sunday, May 29, 2022, Raymond George Edwin Dawson at the age of 93. Husband of Shirley Dawson (nee Dias) for 68 years. Father of Audrey Benbow (Kelvin), Darlene MacGregor (Alec), Brenda Benbow (Adrian), Glen Dawson and Teresa Dawson. Grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Survived by his sister-in-law Patricia “Pat” Dias. Fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Alma (nee Brooks) Dawson, his son Gordon Dawson, sister Florence, brother Ken, sister-in-law Leona Wright (Joe) and brother-in-law Robert Dias.
The family will welcome visitors at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2-4 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Knox United Church, 116 Kincardine Street, Embro, on Thursday at 11 am, with Rev. Susan Cole as officiant, followed by interment in Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodstock.
