Roger Joseph Goodwin
Feb. 18, 1946 – May 20, 2022
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 76.
Roger was predeceased by his parents Louza and Paddy Goodwin, brother Pat and sister Sylvia.
Father to Kelly, Karen (Dan) and Brian (Jennifer). Grandfather to Kyra (Jeff), Tyler (Stephanie), Owen, Emma and Sarah. Great Grandfather to Keith, Ayden and Jacob. Brother to Dian (Angelo) and Barb (Dave). Uncle and friend to many.
Roger was a long time member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and helped many on their journey to sobriety. He will be missed by his AA Family.
An Ironworker by trade, he loved to tell stories of building the CN Tower and Wonder Mountain. He could be a hard man to love, but when it came to his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, there was no doubt what so ever that he loved them deeply. He will be missed.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alcoholics Anonymous (cheques made payable to the “Alano Club”)
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
