1939-2022
It is with saddened hearts the family of David Ambrose
Goodine announces his passing on May 29, 2022, at his home in Crombie
Settlement surrounded by family.
He will be forever missed by his loving wife Alvena
(DeLeavey) Goodine of 60 years and children Brenda, Blair (Marion),
Cindy (Troy) Wright, Krista, and Todd (Stephanie). He also leaves to
mourn his beloved grandchildren, Robyn (Micheal McNeil), Ryan,
Abagail, Shaynna, Bradley, Lauren, Meghan, Garett, and
step-grandchildren, Amanda (Graeme) and Ashley. David is survived by
his brothers Isaac, Gerald, and sister Viola (late Morris) Paris as
well as many nieces and nephews. David’s kind, caring, and generous
soul will be missed by those that loved him dearly and all who were
fortunate to know him.
David was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Beatrice
(Babineau), sisters Annie (DeLeavey) and Margaret (late Ludger
Albert), and brothers, Earnest, Joe, Bob, Fred, and Francis. In-laws
Nickolas and Wilda DeLeavey, Glenna and Donnie Henry, Wylie and Betty
DeLeavey.
David raised his family and established his business in the
logging industry on the Goodine homestead. Working with brothers
Gerald and Joe and sons Blair and Todd throughout the years. The David
Goodine Ltd. business has provided stable employment to many families
and owners of the businesses that support the trucking industry over
these years. David is a founding member of the Tobique Valley Truckers
Association and has over the years shared his sage wisdom and deep
knowledge of the industry for fair negotiations with a variety of mill
owners.
David has been a lifelong member and patron of the Assumption
Church, Blue Bell, NB, and was awarded Honorary Membership in the
Knights of Columbus.
Resting at O’Regan’s Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd.,
Grand Falls, NB with visiting hours on Wednesday June 1, 2022 from
7:00 to 9:00 pm.
His funeral service will be held Thursday June 2, 2022 at
11:00 am at Assumption Church, Blue Bell, NB with visiting from 10:00
to 11:00 am.
For those who wish, donations to Assumption Church, Blue
Bell, NB or Mama Bear Cancer Fund would be appreciated by the
family.
