Obituary of Lorraine Sylvia O’Reilly
It is with prominent sadness that the family of Lorraine Sylvia O’Reilly (Butt) of Bishop’s Falls, announce her sudden passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on May 27, 2022 at the age of 77, surrounded by a circle of family who loved her dearly. Loraine was predeceased by parents Nicholas and Clementine Butt; father-in-law Ambrose O’Reilly; mother-in-law Alice O’Reilly and sister Minnie Goodyear.
She leaves to mourn with loving memories her husband Joseph O’Reilly; four children: Cindy (Rob) Pomeroy, Joey O’Reilly (Melissa), Bradley Smith and Christopher Smith (Rose). She also leaves her seven grandchildren: Robert, Neil, Nikki, Ashley, Taylor, Brooke and Sheldon; two great-grandchildren: Aurora and Everley; her sister Jean Hannon; daughter-in-law Laura O’Reilly as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom she loved devotedly.
Lorraine was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She was a pure soul, made a positive impact on everyone she met. She saw good in everybody and loved everybody. Her door was always open and the kettle was always boiled.
Father Moses will conduct the Funeral Mass from Sacred Heart Parish on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 with cremation to follow. Pallbearers are Rob Pomeroy (son-in-law), Chris Robin Smith (son), Neil Pomeroy (grandson), Roland Pelley (nephew), Ron Griffin (nephew) and Wayne Hannon (nephew). Honorary pallbearers are Robert Pomeroy (grandson) and Nathan Laher (family friend).
