Peacefully on Tuesday, May 17,2022 at the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg, Donny (AKA – The West End Legend) passed away at the age of 61 years, with his partner Nadine Duncan and long time friend Don Reid at his bedside.
Donny was predeceased by his parents Shirley Haldane (Tait) and Ken Haldane as well his beautiful sister Lori Bouchard (Haldane)
Donny will be fondly remembered by his loving, caring partner Nadine with whom he also shared a friendship of 37 years along with her two children Travis Duncan and Celina Duncan and his own son, Evan Haldane (Erika)
His memory will be kept alive within the hearts of his Grandchildren. His “Best Little Buddy” Jayden Duncan, “Sweet Pea” Camilla Duncan, “Princess” Kalani Duncan and soon to be born child of Evan and Erika.
He will also be greatly missed by his Brother Tom Haldane (Joanne), his Nephews Drew Bouchard (Dom), Dane Bouchard (Jennine), Bob Haldane (Ran – Lee) and Eddy Haldane as well as his cousin Marlowe Phillips, his two best friends Don Reid and Pat Martin and many long time friends in both the music and motion picture industries.
As per Donny’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Instead, there will be a celebration of life on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at X-Cues Café and Lounge 551 Sargent Ave Hosted by Mike Tesser and Don Reid at 7pm for all that wish to attend. It has been posted on Facebook.
Now we lay him down to rest
His bass guitar strapped firmly to his chest
One last gig he played in his head
While he lay silently dreaming in his bed
Lights, camera, action, the show must go on
Making sure the rigs were always “Rolling On”
He walked in the limelight from dusk until dawn
His wicked sense of humor will always carry on
Always stealing the show
It truly helped him to grow
Into the West End Legend that we all came to know.

You got the girl and you will forever be in our hearts.
