BARTON, Ross Norman
Ross Barton died peacefully, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, after a long illness, at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Orillia. He was 75 years old. Ross was the beloved spouse of Shirley (Hummel) of Severn and the much-loved father of Connie Black (Robert) of Brechin, Brian Barton of Orillia, Vicki Barton of Orillia, Randy Hummel of Barrie, Kimberly Hummel (Colin) of Brechin and Roy Hummel (Kerry) of Simcoe. He will be lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ross was the dear brother of Harold Barton of Kingston and was predeceased by his siblings Marjorie Martin and Peter Barton. Ross was born and raised in Hotham, Ontario. He worked for many years at Otaco Seating in Orillia, then he and Shirley began Barton Cleaning Service, providing both commercial and residential cleaning services for many years. Funeral services are private. Interment will take place at Powassan Union Cemetery in Powassan, Ontario.
