Dion, Osten Roy
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Osten (Ozz) Dion. Osten is survived by his brother Don, step-sisters Doreen and Leona, nieces Sandra (Alan), Cindy (Graham) and nephew Curtis (Kelly). Ozz was a beloved great uncle to Aaron (Sabrina), Jessica, Juli, Gabriel (Briar), Chenley (Jeff), Kelby and Riley and a great-great uncle to Osten, Kinley, Ava, Rosalyn and Isabel. Predeceased by his mother Velma, father Norman, stepmother Marjorie, stepbrother Ivan and sister-in-law Carol. Born in Uxbridge, Ontario, Osten spent most of his young life in Schomberg. Osten’s love for horses led him to harness racing in and around the Schomberg-Orangeville area, and eventually moving to the States to race horses full-time over the next 20 years. In his spare time, you could find him on the golf course, fine tuning his game. When it was time to retire Osten made the move back to Canada and found a nice spot in Gravenhurst, not too far from Don and Carol. Ozz really liked his neighbours and had a close friendship with Pete and Karen. Retirement meant plenty of time for his second love – golf. Every day you could find him on the golf course – rain or shine. Not many can boast of getting a Hole-in-One but Osten had 3 to his name…that we know of.
A graveside service will take place at Schomberg Union Cemetery on Saturday June 18th, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.. All are welcome to attend. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham, 905-936-3477. www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Osten Dion 2022..
