It is with great sadness that the family of Ann Falls (nee Holmes) announce her passing on Sunday May 22. Ann will be fondly and forever remembered by her beloved husband of 69 years, Bruce Falls, children Kathryn Falls (Roy Colalillo), Robert and Stephen (Jill Unhola). Also, by grandchildren Alison and James Colalillo, sister Margaret Holmes, brother David Holmes (Lynda), along with many dear friends and family members. Ann passed peacefully in her sleep shortly after she and Bruce enjoyed a visit with their three children (Robert visiting virtually).
Ann and Bruce shared a passion for the natural world. Ann received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in zoology from the University of Toronto. She was an avid birder, botanist, and nature photographer. Ann and Bruce made a great team throughout their time together, including researching and publishing scientific papers together, supporting nature conservation initiatives, enjoying family at cottages, and sharing many adventures travelling throughout Canada and the world.
If you are so moved, the family would appreciate donations to The Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Alzheimer Society, or a charity of your choice in memory of Ann.
