January 10, 1930 – May 10, 2022
Fred was born in Winnipeg on January 10, 1930 to Flo and Fred Hooper. He had 2 brothers Wayne and Richard and a sister Doreen that have passed. They all grew up on the farm in Keewatin, ON.
In 1949 Fred hopped on a freight train (full of 200 animals) to BC, landing in Vancouver. Upon arrival, Fred worked in the Britannia Beach Copper Mine and then on to Canada Post from 1955-68. Fred then drove a school bus until his retirement in 1993. He resided in Quesnel, BC over 20 years.
Fred’s first passion was his love of music. Fred played the piano, accordion, guitar and violin, all self-taught!!! He loved old time music and was an astute poker player. He even reconditioned and refinished a Grand Piano that was burnt in a fire.
Fred has a son Myles, 3 grandchildren: Vohn, Adrien and Devon; 2 great grandchildren: Everett and Blake and 1 great-great grandchild Zeke.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Fred Hooper May 10th 2022..
