Loke, Marion (Mary) (née Karmazyniuk)
Born in Rossburn Manitoba on April 26th, 1929, to Stephen Karmazyniuk and Stella Kowalchuk.

Christine passed away peacefully, in her 93rd year, on Wednesday, May 11th after a difficult journey. It is now she flies free of pain with the angels who met her there.
Born at the start of the Great depression to a Ukrainian family in rural Manitoba was a difficult time. Christine was an active, inquisitive, and oft times mischievous young girl. Playing Kick the Can on a city street corner with teams of eight to ten happy youngsters. Club outings with a bonfire in the evening and singing with her many good friends. She was so happy then, so full of life.
In May of 1953 She married a student pilot (William Douglas Loke) with whom she fell in love. Life was soon filled with 4 children, three boys (Richard Lawrence (Larry) Loke (deceased) / Anthea Willows, Sydney Steven Loke / Connie Cornwell (Grandchildren, Stacy and Tessa, Great-Grandchildren, Erika, Riley and William), Peter Norman Loke / Shelley (Grandchildren, Adam and Alyssa) then finally a young girl Crystal Diane Loke / Steve Nicolaiff (Grandchildren, Mike and Derek).
Over the years, there were many moves – in fact 12 times throughout the span of her life. Living the life of a gypsy. Each time packing up and coordinating the many details of moving a household.
It was in the last 15 years of her life that she found her voice, her laughter, herself again. In the end, she was surrounded with love, compassion, and respect for which I will always be grateful. She is now my angel and will forever live in my heart.
Please give generously to www.cufoundaction.ca (Canada Ukrainian Foundation) “in memory”. A Celebration of Life” will be held, in lieu of a service, outside by the fire pit at 540 River Road on Saturday May 28th between the hours of 4 PM and 7 PM.
