Carole L. Tompkins
1936-2022
The death of Carole Lorraine Tompkins of Beechwood occurred on
Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the River View Manor, surrounded by her
family. Carole was born June 29, 1936 in Florenceville was the
daughter of the late Ora and Elizabeth (Johannsson) Tompkins. She was
also predeceased by her 4 siblings, Frank Tompkins (Marion), Shirley
Golding (Maurice), Bill Tompkins (Wanda) and Vaughan Tompkins
(Marrilie); 1 brother in law, Vern Wooster.
Carole came to Beechwood in 1965 to live with her brother Frank and
his wife Marion and their 10 children. Carole loved to sing, going to
church on Sunday and spending time with family. Carole loved to watch
the Dukes of Hazzard throughout the week and she enjoyed watching the
Gaither gospel videos on Sunday. Since her move to the River View
Manor Carole enjoyed visits from family and friends and she expected a
treat, a diet Pepsi, Tim’s coffee or something sweet to nibble on.
Carole had a smile that would warm any heart and she will be greatly
missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her 2 sisters, Rennie Wooster of Highland, Michigan
and Juanita Hall of Phoenix, Arizona as well as many nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews that loved her very much.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. on Sunday May 15, 2022 from 1-3 pm. A funeral service will
follow at 3 pm. Rev. Garth Hatheway will officiate. The interment will
be in the Wharton Cemetery. Donations made to the Upper Kent United
Pentecostal Church or the Wharton Cemetery would be appreciated.
