Michael William Hefferan
September 28, 1956 – May 11, 2022
Michael (Mickey) William Hefferan – age 65 years – With sad hearts we announce the passing of Michael (Mickey) William Hefferan who passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday morning, May 11th, 2022, in his 65th year. Michael was born in Bellevue, Newfoundland and he lived there for most of his life until health trouble forced him to move to St. John’s. There he lived at Cambridge Estates for two and a half years and finally at St. Pat’s Mercy Home for three weeks until the time of his death.
Predeceased by his parents Kevin and Mary (nee Fahey) Hefferan of Bellevue.
Leaving to mourn siblings Kevin Hefferan (Donna) and Marie Hefferan Trowbridge (Bob)
Six nieces and nephews Darrell (Selena), Barry (Kristine), Chris (Jeannie), Paul, Mary (Rob), and Nancy (Shawn).
Ten grand nieces and nephews Brady, Taylor, Mitchell, Dawson, Christian, Mackenzie, David, Anna, Kylee and Alexis. They each shared a special place in his heart.
Also, to mourn are Shirley Smith and Bernice Smith of Chance Cove, Newfoundland who were more than just Michael’s home care workers. They were also his best friends. They cared for Michael right up until it became impossible when he was forced to move to St. John’s.
And there was Jim Scurry, Rhonda Molloy, and the rest of the people at Cambridge Estates with whom Michael shared his last two and a half years. Jim and Michael might have been only roommates, but they became so close, they saw each other as brothers.
Finally, are Michael’s many extended family and friends who were lucky enough to be in his company throughout the years. I think everyone would agree that Michael (Mickey) could always make you feel like a friend.

Cremation has taken place at Caul’s Funeral Home in St. John’s and a Funeral Mass and burial will take place in Bellevue at a day and time to be announced.
