Obituary of Julius Brokloff
On May 9, 2022, at the age of 85, Julius entered suddenly into rest at his home on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. His dream home that he had designed and built.
Loving husband to Sheila (Powell) for the past 60 years. Dear father of Mark (Julie) of Brockville and Jillian (Jonathan) of Rockport. Proud and treasured grandfather of Matthew, William, Alexander (Sidney) and Christopher.
Predeceased by his parents Johann and Anna Brokloff (Wallentin).
Born in Holumnica, Czechoslovakia during German occupation. Julius was separated from his parents for the duration of WW2. He survived many attempts at his life before being reunited with his family and escaping to Canada. He remained a proud Canadian for the remainder of his life.
Julius will be remembered as a McMaster graduate of Mechanical Engineering- Class of 1962. His passion for photography was shared with his students over 30 years, leading to lifelong friendships.
A proud and private man, Julius always put his family first. Time spent with his grandsons were the highlight of his life.
Family and friends will be received at Barclays Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street Brockville Visitation Friday May 13, 2022 @ 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturday May 14, 2022 @ 11:00 am– 12:45 pm, Service in the Chapel @ 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. In memory of Julius, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly acknowledged by the family.
