Obituary
We gather today to Celebrate the Life of Alfred John Stang who departed from us at the age of eighty-nine.
Son to Mary (Prediger) and Leo Stang; brother to Margaret (Nick), Victor (Doris), Edward (Ann), Vera (Jim), Rosemary (Rochus); husband to Deidrie for over 50 years; father to Michael (Connie) and Heather (Rob); grandfather to Christopher and Allison (Cody); great-grandfather to Ryder and Aiden.
Alfred was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan, where he spent most of his formative years before moving to Calgary, where he and wife Deidrie raised their family, before moving throughout the province to pursue working opportunities with the provincial government. Through their various moves, they gathered lifelong friends along the way, before settling back in Calgary. Everyone has a story to share from meeting Al. He left a lasting impression wherever he went.
In addition to the time Al spent with his family and friends, he loved being outdoors, travelling with his family, later spent many years as a runner, and took joy in watching a good baseball game.
He loved his family, his God, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Please join us in remembering Alfred.
