Walter Dale Brant, in his 70th year, has joined some of his best buddies and his parents (Mavis (nee Sero) and Harold Brant), aunts, uncles and grandparents in what, we can only assume, will be one heck of a party. We are sure that tonight when he catches his first heavenly game of Jeopardy, it will once again be hosted by Alex, while the rest of us will be down here, stuck with the substitutes!
Dale is going to be indescribably missed by his daughters Kelly (Mike) and Shannon (Andrew) and by his grandchildren Keelan (Josh), Kennedy (Nathan) and Ryan and his great-grandchildren Sawyer and Stefan. We will share with Baby Brynn, what a wonderful papa she had and how much he loved her, even though they never got a chance to meet.
Dale is survived by his sister Daphne, many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, friends who were like brothers, and an impressive collection of vinyl. We are especially grateful that he had Jim and Brock in his life, checking in on him and getting him into trouble for the last 50+ years. And we cannot thank Denny enough – his partner in crime, his opponent in crib and the Statler to his Waldorf – for being such an incredibly good friend. A heartfelt thank you to his many nurses who had a hand in taking such good care of him.
We are sure he is up there, enjoying some Tim’s, playing some pool, listening to some records, scratching some tickets and doing the crosswords that he so loved.
At his request, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 12 at 2-4 pm upstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion in Deseronto at 340 Main St. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association, The Canadian Cancer Society, or to Tyendinaga Home & Community Care.
Rest in Peace Daddy. You will be missed.
