March 22, 1936 – May 7, 2022
Norman Shirran
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grand father and great grandfather.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Frances; children Dale (Melissa), Kim (John), Todd (Donna), Stephanie (John), and Curtis; grandchildren Shane, Tyler, April, Hayley, A.J., Brooke, Shannon, Shelby, Shawn and Daniel; great grandchildren Rylan and Hannah; sisters-in-law Donna (Herman) and Marie.
He was predeceased by sons Andy and Craig.
Dad will be remembered as a generous man with a positive outlook on life. He was eager to strike up a conversation and could spin tales for hours, often stories from his over 50 years operating his taxi service. It didn’t matter if you knew him 5 minutes or 5 years, he had a way of making you feel like an old friend. This especially was apparent from the many friendships he and mom made over the past several years at the Shriner’s RV park in Eastport.
Dad truly loved his large family and dearly enjoyed spending time with us. He had a larger than life personality and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Arthritis Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Visitation will take place on Sunday May 8th and Monday May 9th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Service will take place from Memorial United Church on Tuesday, May 10th at 2:00pm.
