Jack Clarence Sharp, age 87, of Knoxville, passed away May 7, 2022. He was born August 10, 1934 and was a lifelong resident of Knoxville. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church and recently attended Central Baptist Church of Fountain City. Jack was the co-owner of Sharp Drug Store for over fifty years. He served as a City Councilman for twenty-eight years and was Vice Mayor for sixteen of those years. Jack also was a member of the North Knoxville Business Club.
Jack was the youngest of the late W.C. and Blanche Sharp and was also preceded in death by three brothers, W.C. Jr., George, and Jim Sharp.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Nine Sharp; brother-in-law, Ed (Ann) Nine of Columbus SC; nieces and nephews, Steve (Jeanie) Sharp, Gregg (Sarah) Sharp, David (Christie) Nine, Lisa Nine and Jane (Brad) Morgan, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 1:00 PM with Rev. John Lovelace officiating.
