Obituary for James A. Smith
James A. Smith, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Victoria Hospital, London, in his 82nd year. The son of the late Nate and Neva Smith. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Boswell-Smith for 46 years. He will be missed by his children Kimberlie and Greg Southcombe, Norah-Lynn DeLeeuw, Laurance DeLeeuw, and Kim Smith, his grandchildren Chelsea Southcombe, Taylor Crane, Catrina Crane, Alex McCallum, Kaleb Patrick McCallum, Elizabeth McCallum, Christopher Deleeuw, and Bradley Deleeuw. James was the brother of Caroline Osborne, Dick Smith, Diana Skidmore, Helen Walker, Linda Tuach, Ab Smith, and the late Ralph Makey. He retired from the Ontario Provincial Police, serving 37 years in Chatham and Petrolia. In retirement he drove for Hull Bus Lines. James volunteered coaching hockey and baseball and loved to fish in his spare time. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
